Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DiningReviews.net (“DiningReviews.net,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit diningreviews.net and use our restaurant directory, influencer profiles, reviews, and related features (the “Services”). DiningReviews.net is a curated guide to restaurants featuring reviews from social-media food influencers; we are not affiliated with the restaurants or influencers listed unless expressly stated.

Information we collect

  • Information you provide. When you create an account or submit a review, we collect your name or display name, email address, star rating, and the plain-text content of your review. If you contact us, we keep your message and contact details.
  • Account & authentication data. We use a third-party authentication provider (Clerk) and sign-in with Google. When you sign in, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address to identify your account. We never receive your Google password.
  • Publicly available information (influencer & restaurant profiles). To build influencer and restaurant profiles, we compile information that is already public, such as social-media handles, publicly reported follower counts, publicly posted reviews, awards, and press coverage. We embed publicly available social-media posts (for example, TikTok and YouTube) using each platform’s official embed.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and content-delivery network (Cloudflare) log technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps for security, performance, and abuse prevention.
  • Cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure your session (set by our authentication provider). Embedded third-party content may set its own cookies — see below.

How we use information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • To authenticate you and manage your account.
  • To review, approve, and publish diner reviews, and to operate rewards or perks features.
  • To build and display curated restaurant and influencer profiles.
  • To protect the Services against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
  • To communicate with you about the Services and respond to your requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Reviews and profiles are public

Reviews you submit — including your display name, rating, and review text — are displayed publicly on the Services once approved. Influencer and restaurant profiles are public pages. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a review.

How we share information

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us run the Services, such as our authentication provider (Clerk) and our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare), who process data on our behalf.
  • Legal & safety. We may disclose information to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
  • Business transfers. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party embeds and links

The Services embed content from and link to third-party platforms (such as TikTok, YouTube, and restaurant or influencer websites). Those third parties may collect information and set cookies according to their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We encourage you to review their policies.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information as described below.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, or to request deletion of your account or a review, contact us at [email protected]. Influencers and restaurants may request correction or removal of a profile that draws on their publicly available information using the same address.

Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
